Budapest: Medieval Dinner Show with Drinks

2.Medieval Dinner Show with Drinks

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 562 reviews · from $45

Meet at Lancelot XIII in central Budapest for a three-hour medieval-style dinner with a welcome apple pálinka, 0.5 liter of draft beer, and a large Hungarian meal. Choose from steak-based menus, then watch short music-led acts featuring swordsmen, jugglers, and belly dancers. Expect a playful tourist evening, not a formal history lesson.

“The venue was nicely atmospheric and easy to find. We were sat on wooden benches (a little uncomfortable) and there seemed to be a staggered arrival time for the patrons. There was a very good belly dancer (who changed outfits in between shows) and a chap with lit up balls on strings which he swung around (was better than it sounds!) Guess he was the juggler. They both came on twice whilst we were there. There was also a sword fight skit involving some of the audience which was quite fun. The waiting staff were dressed as medieval wenches which added to the atmosphere. We chose to eat Lancelot's Challenge…”

Spend eight hours beyond Budapest with a guided walk through Kecskemét, then visit a Lajosmizse horse ranch for pálinka, a carriage ride, traditional horse show, and three-course lunch with wine. Guides such as Ingrid, Elizabeth, and Maria have been praised for warm, informative hosting. Downtown hotel pickup is optional.

“We had Ingrid as our guide and she was fabulous. She is highly knowledgeable and looked after us really well. The Puszta and Kecskemét Tour was so enjoyable as we did a lot of things - we rode a carriage drawn by 4 Lipizzan horses, rode a horse, patted the wonderful variety of farm animals, visited the stables and had a wonderful 3-course meal with live gypsy music. What a great day out!”

5.Puszta Horse Show and Countryside Visit

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 131 reviews · 8 hours · from $133

Leave Budapest for Kecskemét and a traditional farm near Lajosmizse. You will watch skilled horsemen, ride in a horse-drawn carriage, taste pálinka, and eat goulash, grilled chicken, dessert, wine, and mineral water. Guides including Gabriella and Maria have made the day especially engaging, though the long bus rides and animal-care concerns may matter to some visitors.

“Great food, music and entertainment. The horses need shade from the hot sun and it doesn't look good to have one guy sawing on the mouth of his horse and another punching his. Otherwise well presented”

Budapest: Hungarian Folklore Dance Performance & Concert Ticket

6.Hungarian Folklore Dance Performance & Concert Ticket

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 129 reviews · 1 hour 20 minutes (approx.) · from $22

Spend about 80 minutes with the Rajkó Folk Ensemble, watching two 30-minute sets of Hungarian folk dance and live music at the Hungarian GastroCellar in central Budapest. Choose a ticket with drinks or dinner, including goulash or a multi-course menu. The mobile ticket starts at 7:00 pm and the experience returns you to the meeting point.

“An absolutely amazing performance from the musicians and dancers. It was very lively the whole time and I felt like I learnt a lot from watching the performance about traditional Hungarian culture. The only issue I had were some guests were inconsiderate and standing up in front of people to get pictures of the performance. Luckily it was just briefly, but it was a bit selfish and if they wanted a better view they should have paid more money for better seats like we had done.”
